A new office, a second location or a move

The furniture arrives on a Friday. The staff arrive on Monday. Somewhere in between, the internet, Wi-Fi, firewall, printers and meeting rooms all have to work. We plan that part from the day the lease is signed.

Moving the whole firm

Same people, same systems, new address. The goal is a Monday that feels like an ordinary Monday.

  • Site visit to the new space before the fit-out is finalized
  • Business internet ordered on lease signing, with a backup connection where work can’t stop
  • Data and power locations agreed with your landlord and contractors
  • Firewall and Wi-Fi installed and tested in the empty space
  • Equipment moved and reconnected over a weekend, with a checklist for every desk
  • Our team on site the first morning to deal with whatever didn’t travel well

Opening a second location

A second office should feel like the first one, not a satellite with its own rules.

Staff should be able to sit down in either office and have everything work: the same Wi-Fi name, the same printers by role, the same access to files and line-of-business software. We connect the sites securely, extend your device and security policies to the new location, and make sure the meeting rooms in both places can talk to each other.

If the new office means new hires, we prepare their accounts and devices in advance, so their first day starts with work rather than passwords.

The things that slip

In our experience, the same few items decide whether an office opens on time.

  • Internet lead times. Order early, track weekly, and have a fallback.
  • Cabling in the wrong place. Agree the drawing before the drywall closes.
  • Wi-Fi coverage. Glass meeting rooms and concrete cores eat signal. Test in the real space.
  • Printers. They always seem simple, and they never are.
  • The phone system. Number transfers have their own timeline. We coordinate it with your provider.

Common questions

When should we order internet for the new space?

As soon as the lease is signed. Business circuits in commercial buildings commonly take several weeks, and fibre builds can take longer. We place the order, chase it and line up a temporary connection if the date looks at risk.

Can you work with our landlord and electrician?

Yes. We give your contractors a drawing of where data and power are needed, confirm what the building already has, and check the work before the furniture goes in.

We already have IT support. Can we use GoLive Kit just for the move?

Yes. We can run the move alongside your current provider and hand back a documented network at the end. Many firms then choose to stay with KDTS, but that’s a separate decision.

The earlier we see the space, the fewer surprises. Send the address, the move date and the headcount, and we’ll reply within two business days.
